Head of School

STEFAN RUMISTRZEWICZ
Head of British School of Málaga, Spain
Stefan joined the International Schools Partnership (ISP) as the Principal of The British School of Málaga in April 2021. He received his B.Sc. (Hons) degree in Chemistry from the University of Bristol and is currently undertaking an Executive Masters in Business Administration from the Quantic School of Business and Technology, graduating in August 2021.
Stefan has enjoyed a wide and varied career spanning over 25 years, teaching in a variety of age ranges from 6 to 18, in the UK, Europe and East Africa. Stefan first entered senior leadership whilst in Kenya in the early 2000s and became Deputy Head of a school in north London upon his return to the UK. After six happy years there, he and his family felt the pull of the travel bug once more and Stefan took up the post of Deputy Head of a British school in Murcia, Spain, where he went on to become the Head.
During Stefan’s headship in Murcia, he led the school through its first ever British School Overseas inspection with the Independent School’s Inspectorate and subsequently its second one three years later, achieving ‘Outstanding’ in all areas.
A strong believer in the development of effective teams and ‘learning for all’, Stefan likes working in close collaboration with the staff, parents and, of course, students, in looking at ways we can all develop and grow as learners.
Stefan’s hobbies include running, board games, films, dabbling on the guitar and watching (occasionally attempting to play) cricket. He is a keen astronomer, having published a book a few years ago on the subject.
