About the School

CPV International School, Peñalolen is set in 7 hectares of land with the stunning Andes mountain range as a back-drop. The students follow the Chilean national curriculum and are able to attend pre-university classes within the curriculum in preparation for the final exam for entry to Chilean universities. <br /> Infants and Primary are bilingual with at least 50% of lessons in English while in secondary English is taught intensively with students having the opportunity to study some of their electives through English in the final two years of school. Sport is an important pillar of the school and the school runs many teams which compete in local leagues. A wide-ranging extracurricular programme is offered and students are able to represent the school in university run ‘Olympics’ in Maths and Science.

Ruth Percival
Ruth was born in Cardiff and despite having lived much of her life overseas as both a child and an adult, is proud to be Welsh. Her love of South America, and in particular Chile, stems from having spent her early adolescent years in Chile before returning to Wales to complete her secondary education and attend university,<br /> She obtained a Bachelor of Education, Bachelor of Science and a Master in Education while in the UK, playing international hockey for many years before moving out to Chile to continue her career as a teacher. She has led schools in Peru and Argentina totalling over 25 years of school leadership experience.<br /> Her hobbies include running long distances, adopting and caring for animals on the street and is currently working on making her house in the countryside in Chile completely sustainable.
