Ellinogermaniki Agogi

Dr. Stavros Savvas studied Physics at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. He completed postgraduate studies in Science Education at the University of Dortmund and earned his PhD in Education from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. He has dedicated his professional career to teaching, developing and applying modern teaching practices and leading Ellinogermaniki Agogi. From 1994 to 2001 he taught science in primary and secondary education, introducing experiential learning methods through simple experiments and everyday materials. He was the principal author of the science textbooks for primary education published by the Ministry of National Education and Religious Affairs. Since 2001, he has been responsible for teacher training at national level, supporting the pedagogical implementation of the new books and the adoption of collaborative and inquiry-based learning. Today, he coordinates an educational organisation of 1900 students and 600 staff, undertaking multiple roles: pedagogical and organisational leadership, strategic development, oversight of learning programmes, staffing and professional development of personnel and continuous communication with students, families and teachers. He leads with pedagogical insight, prioritising trust-based relationships, transparency in decision-making and the safeguarding of a stable and secure learning environment. He speaks English and German fluently.
