About the School

Located in the award-winning Ipoh Development, Tenby Schools Ipoh is the most established school in Ipoh and the surrounding areas, serving over 1,000 students. Academic results are excellent, but we understand that effective learning is about more than just academic achievement. Lee Chalkly
Lee completed a Humanities degree in History and Film at the College of St Mark and John before completing a Post Graduate Certificate in Education at Exeter University. He returned to Luton to begin his teaching career. Whilst there he worked with Luton Town Football Club coaching the U11, U13 and U15 levels within the outreach programme. Following three years in Luton, Lee began his international career in Nairobi, Kenya where he was Deputy Head of Preparatory at Nairobi Academy.<br /> For the last 27 years, he has worked as a teacher and school leader with 14 years as Head of School. This experience has taken him and his family to seven countries and has included working with a variety of curriculums. Whilst serving as Director at the International School of Riga, the school leadership worked with the Latvian Ministry of Education to support the development of new pedagogy that was incorporated into the Latvian National Curriculum. The school was recognised for its innovation and commitment to great learning.<br /> To support his professional growth, Lee has completed an MBA in Educational Leadership at the University of Leicester, an MA in International Education at the University of Sunderland and a Post Graduate Diploma in Education with a focus on initial teacher training at the University of Nottingham. Additionally, he is a certified Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner. He is experienced in leading schools through accreditation and is a visiting school accreditation leader.<br /> Lee enjoys golfing in his free time and is an active participant in the residential community’s golfing activities. Lee also finds pleasure in watching English Premier League matches, and he proudly supports Arsenal, his favourite football club.
